Kari Samantha W�hrer, (born April 28, 1967 in Brookfield, Connecticut). She is an actress and a singer.
She is the daughter of Andrew and Karin W�hrer, and has three siblings. As a teenager she sang in nightclubs, sneaking out of the family home to perform. Kari began studying acting at the age of 13. She studied drama at New York University (NYU), then at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London. She later took graduate-level classes at Columbia University. Signed by Ford's Model Talent Division, she first appeared in several commercials including Clairol hairspray advertisements.
Her first movie role was a part in Fire with Fire (1986), since then has starred in many straight-to-vid B-Rated features over the next 10 years which included (Candian release) Vivid (ie: Luscious). Her first television break was working for MTV as a VJ and as a co�host in Remote Control. She came to fame in the series Sliders as Maggie Beckett, joining the cast as a regular in 1997 and staying until the show ended in 2000.

She has also starred as video game character Special Agent Tanya Adams in the titles Red Alert 2 and its sequel, Yuri's Revenge, installments of the popular Command & Conquer series of real-time strategy games.
Wuhrer signed a record deal with Rick Rubin and her debut album was called Shiny, released in 1999. She plays the guitar and the flute as well as sings.
From February 3, 2005 until her final appearance on November 15, 2005 Wuhrer joined the cast of the soap opera General Hospital as FBI Agent Reese Marshall, the former love interest of mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). In Wuhrer's final episode, Reese died after suffering some minor injuries following a train crash.
In the late 1980s she dated rock singer Dean Davidson. She was married to Daniel Salin in 1995, and divorced in 1999. In the summer of 2000, during an appearance on a cable network show, she publicly stated that her boyfriend Henry Rollins dumped her via email. Kari is presently married to the film producer James Scura since 2003. She gave birth to their first child, a boy named Enzo, in January 2004 and is expecting her second child, a girl, in April 2006.
W�hrer considered the idea of posing nude for Playboy in 1998, later was voted #73 in the FHM 100 Sexiest Women in the World 2001 and #36 in Maxim magazine's 50 sexiest women countdown (1999).
In January 2006, Wuhrer announced that she was suing General Hospital, claiming that she was fired because of her pregnancy. She particularly pointed out the acts of executive producer Jill Farren Phelps and headwriters Charles Pratt and Robert Guza. Wuhrer plans to bring fellow ex-GHer Lesli Kay into the situation, claiming that Kay was fired for the same reason.
